Kongai Card Album Description[]
For long fights, this drain can really add up, effectively lowering an opponent's energy regeneration by 10%.
Cursed Dabloons on characters[]
The health loss happens before healing over time, such as from Healing Salve. The energy loss happens after the normal +20 energy gain at the end of each turn.
The health and energy loss both apply if a character switches (or is forced by a move) in with/against Dabloons; however if death causes a chosen switch with/against Dabloons, neither applies.
A Death Mask or Phylactery proc will prevent health loss but not energy loss; if Dabloons caused the proc, that character will be vulnerable to the next attack. A Sacred Candle proc will prevent both health and energy loss. Darla Cross's innate will steal Dabloons after it procs while her Parrot Pilfer will steal it before it procs.
Note: Bleed/Burn/Poison effects proc before Dabloons.
Pirates[]
- Auger Blackboot - Decent choice. Annoys dual-rangers like Higashi who relies on range-changing and can turns good energy games to bad, and from bad to worse. (Unless you encounter another Auger with Dabloons, which unfortunately; 1. Can prevent stalemate occurring making stalling impossible without suffering damage. And 2. if one of the captain makes a "mistake" (e.g. go close range), then Murphy's law can, and will always come up).
- Balthazar Bomb-Britches - Similar to Auger, this can prevent other opponents from cheating him out on a Fire Cannon when changing range.
- Darla Cross - The coins can easily change the playing-field if equipped. A popular tactic is that Darla should stall the opponent and drain their energy while stealing an item with her innate or the parrot.
- Ranec Vest - Enhances Ghostly Touch (making rival attacks cost 15
Energy, while also draining 2/turn) and his energy game considerably. Good choice.
- Starbuck - Starbuck's energy game is generally sub-par, and anything that can counter against more-efficient opponents is always useful.
Trivia[]
- This is a nod to (and possibly have been inspired by) the Disney film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which despite the name suggesting, the main plot of the film revolves around cursed coins.
