Navigator's Sextant is a Pirate item which has a 50% chance to prevent the enemy from switching out. This items breaks after use (the Sextant must successfully prevent the enemy from switching out - if switching out is instead successful, the Sextant remains equipped).
Kongai Card Album Description[]
Unless they're walking the plank, no one escapes a pirate! Keep your enemies close by with the Navigator's Sextant.
[]
Experienced players may try to switch out earlier in order to try and break this before they are forced into worse situations, but there is a workaround: If you intercept an opponents attempted switch out, the Sextant will not check for a proc (thus preventing it breaking prematurely). Opponents who dodge your intercept attempt (Rumiko, Yoshiro, Flash Powder equipped Martial Artists) can still be stopped by a Sextant proc, but the Sextant itself (being a debuff) can by broken by Sacred Candle.
Pirates[]
- Auger Blackboot - People will frequently switch out of an Aimed Pistol. With the Sextant, if successful, can easily punish weaker opponents for switching by a magnitude.
- Balthazar Bomb-Britches - Player's choice. The cannon can easily scare rookies but can be prematurely broken by veteran players if not careful.
- Darla Cross - Makes Parrot Torpedo and Parrot Pilfer a little bit safer to carry out. (It is also nice when the sextant breaks, and you replace it with a stolen item.)
- Ranec Vest - Psycho Crusher tends to be switched out on and Le Chuck's Curse is quite slow and only works if the target actually switches. All this can be averted with the Sextant, which then can be set up into a Two-sword Slash.
- Starbuck - Good choice. Starbuck can easily deal more damage to opponents when switching fails.
