A soft interrupt is an attack which causes the effects of Interrupt through another process. Unlike Interrupt, Soft Interrupt does not use the energy of the interrupted character. Soft Interrupts are usually displayed as "Failed" in the game.

List of Soft Interrupts[]

  • Using Ashi's Power Swing or Anex's Power Toss against an opponent before their attack, assuming they have no other alive cards. This kicks them out of the battlefield, only to make them rejoin because there is no other card to switch to. Their slower attack does not occur that turn.
  • Stunning is technically a Soft Interrupt because the Stun debuff performs all the things Interrupt does, and more.
  • Changing the range with an attack before the opponent's character attacks, assuming their attack cannot function at the new range.
  • In the case of MR-V1N, draining an opponent's energy (while switching out or using Energy Sap) against a slower move can soft-interrupt an attack by making it more expensive.
