SUBJECT: MAVERICK X

Maverick X Personal Facts[]

  • Real Name: Jason Gresham Larsen
  • Age: 18
  • Birthplace: Leigh City, Avalonia
  • Resides: Helmsley, New Avalon, Vaalbaran Continent
  • Fighting Style: Hybrid martial arts (consisting of Eastern-style arts, grappling and underworld brawling).
  • Weapons: Combat Knife and Bayonet (formerly), Dragon Fangs (current), "Improvised"
    • Jason's Dragon Fangs are twin swords that are recognized as one set of a Cosmic Key, a set of indestructible powerful weapons and artifacts that are a fundamental part of the Maverick Universe. No same Cosmic Keys can exist together at any timepoint, and all of them are unique in some function. In the case of the Dragon Fangs, the dragon-shaped pommels on the curved hilts can emit an energy-based emission and capable of deploying offensive soundwaves from the mouth. There are currently at least 22 known active Cosmic Keys, and possibly more unrevealed keys.
  • Superpowers: "Classified"
    • Advanced Mental Abilities, being recorded as far more powerful than other Humans or Tessians currently recorded. Includes Telepathy, Mind Control and its negation, "Mental Scarring" (Mind Images and Psionic Inundation) and Detection, Replication and Transferal of information. This was inherited from his clone Mother Ella Larsen (née Vasco), although he lacks the Empathic abilities that Ella possesses.
    • His Maverick Gene gifted by his Tessian lineage allows Jason Hyper-Adaptive Learning and Adoptive Muscle Memory, as well as Skill Replication and Enhancement. The active copy of the Maverick Gene has only been carried by one other Tessian (Edward Larsen, Jason's clone Father), and one Tessian-Faunus (Ronan Augustus), with one potential sharer (Nika Chang, as explained below). This gene also allows him to capture the souls of dead peoples and ghosts, which will grant him the knowledge and experiences of the captured souls.
    • Jason Larsen also possesses an Imprint (Mind Link) and a Tessian Blood Bond with human Nika Chang. Her telepathic and mental abilities are more subdued, but she possesses the Empathic abilities that Jason somehow lacks. (Jason notes that his Empathic abilities were stronger during his high-school years, but have seemingly been compromised after he and Nika went on their separate ways, with her going to College while Jason remained an independent vigilante.)

  • Interesting Fact: Jason chooses to deliberately handicap himself by capping his mental abilities in order to pass his Maverick qualification course, even though they were nowhere near as powerful during and after the events of Project Kongai. This is probably due to his unfound fear of being discovered to be far too powerful for a "mere human" and also being discovered of his unnatural origins.

Description[]

Jason Gresham is regarded as being one of the most powerful Mavericks, perhaps even more powerful than his "Father" Maverick Alpha who singlehandedly prevented the first Gronuk invasion. But the road to get there has been a long and difficult one.

Underneath the green power suit lies a physical appearance that is easily misleading. Asides from a somewhat fair build and his recognizable black hair and green eyes (the black hair being an everlasting trait of his Tessian heritage), Jason can easily use his size to both intimidate weaker individuals, both mentally and physically, while deceiving those stronger with false security. This can be further hidden with a shade noticeable cynicism, jaded by his adolescent youth. At worse, he hides himself under a veil of psychosis against those whom he truly detests. For that matter, Jason prefers using words and mind-games to take down opponents, physical force being only used if necessary, yet at the same time, persuade and encourage potential allies, or make them carry out his objectives on his behalf.

Those who are part of his inner circle knows the truth and while Jason will appear as ever the more optimistic, outgoing and mentally sane (which is him most of the time now), much of his darker side of his personality (which they know it's a front) are driven by his ever-evolving mental abilities. They also know that Jason cares deeply of them and are probably the main reason why Jason has never gone off the deep end (or rails, too). Nevertheless, anybody who seeks to harm those individuals, Nika especially, will face the psychotic wrath of Jason, which few will ever live to tell the tale (assuming if Jason lets them survive).
